The Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute (LAAAWPPI), in partnership with the University of Southern California, is preparing for its Women’s Public Policy Leadership Class beginning January 2018.
LAAAWPPI is the brainchild of the Los Angeles African American Women Political Action Committee (LAAAWPAC) and was introduced in April 2002. Although conceived by LAAAWPAC, LAAAWPPI is a separately organized, non-partisan, non-profit organization whose mission is to prepare women for leadership positions inthe corporate world, as well as the public policy, government and public affairs arenas. Our leadership classes have been highly successful and positively received by corporations, public policy professionals and political strategists in the City.
LAAAWPPl’s goal is to provide individuals with the skills needed to pursue careers and opportunities as corporate leaders, elected officials, campaign consultants, public affairs consultants, fund-raisers, activists, legislative staff members, and members of boards and commissions. Our ultimate goal is to create a trained and talented pool of women prepared to assume leadership positions at all levels. Now celebrating the graduation of our 13th class, we are happy to have an alumnae class of 200 women - you can be part of this legacy of leadership!
We have assembled a talented staff of instructors and speakers for the classes, each of whom have distinguished themselves in the corporate world, as well as in the public policy and governmental affairs arenas. If you have an interest in advancing your career and/or becoming more engaged in the civic and policy affairs of our City and State, then LAAAWPPI is for you and we invite you to submit your application for the Class of 2018.
